Dylath-Leen is a modern industrial city ruled by the extra-dimensional Overlords who can appear and disappear at will. Daily government business is performed by humans managed by the Overlord-Human hybrids.
Inspector Lazarus Balthazar Nodens’ squad of detectives in the Criminal Investigations Division investigate deaths and determine if they were caused by extra-dimensional predators known as Ravagers or terrestrial culprits. Ravagers also appear and disappear at will. Victims of these monsters are classified as Ravager Attributed Deaths, or RADs, and are accepted as part of the Overlords’ rule. Any other deaths are investigated by Larry and his team.
When the murders of a series of identical women arise, Larry and his team are on the case. But the victims have a politically sensitive secret, and he must walk a fine line between the will of the Overlords and upholding the law.
